Shadow Trax Media Arts, a Philadelphia nonprofit serving the local community, is holding the annual CARNIVAL IN THE HOOD at 11TH AND CUMBERLAND STREETS on SUNDAY, AUGUST 27th,  from 12 to 6 PM CARNIVAL IN THE HOOD is a community party for children that includes carnival games and rides, moon bounces, dance contests, live bands, food and much more - all at no charge to anyone!

We at Shadow Trax Media Arts focus our work on youth in need. The goal is to give these young people a pathway out of a life of difficulty and a chance to fulfill their dreams. The CARNIVAL IN THE HOOD offers kids a brief escape from the challenges of daily life and an opportunity to connect to caring neighbors and role models to help them find their way. In the world of violence in which these young people must try to survive, they need the inspiration and confidence the neighborhood carnival brings. They need safe parks and playgrounds where they can play everyday!   

Showing kids the alternative to guns and violence helps all of us. The neighborhood grows into non-violence. Non-violence becomes the way of life. Families and businesses thrive in non-violent communities.
